Course programme

Every group has a distinct character and power and is always more than the sum of its individual parts.

Facilitating groups can be like journeying without a map – often difficult, intense, challenging and stimulating.

Group facilitators can become the receptacle for the group’s negativity and projections.

The course aims to elicit each member’s unique ability, and develop their confidence in facilitating therapeutic groups – by exploring with them their ability to use themselves to harness the strength of the group to empower individual members.

It is open to Counsellors and Psychotherapists trained in any modality.

This 10-day (one weekend per month) training will cover the characteristics of group work: tasks, facilitator styles, models, interventions, dynamics and processes, boundaries and inherent difficulties.
