How will I learn?
You will learn through practical lesson activities where you will research our monetary needs in the various stages of our lives. You will find out what financial products are available and the dangers of borrowing too much money. In fact, what you learn on this course will serve you well for the rest of your life.
The Certificate in Financial Studies is equivalent to an AS course and attracts UCAS points. You could progress to the Diploma in Financial Studies in the second year. Together with the Certificate, this would equate to an A level.
How will I be assessed?
Units 1 and 2 are assessed by multiple choice exams held in November and February. Unit 3 is a case study exam held in May. Your work will be graded A, B, C, D, E - the same scale as AS levels: corresponding to UCAS points of A =60 to E=20.
