Core Skills:
At the end of the course, students will be able to understand the:

• house buying process, from making an offer to completion and the key parties involved;
• different types of borrowers and how to meet their individual mortgage needs;
• different types of mortgage products and repayment options and their suitability for the client;
• legislative and regulatory position of mortgages and the requirements of a mortgage adviser.

Assessment:
The method of assessment is by a formal examination administered by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Online exam sittings enable you to enter for the exam when you are ready, with provisional results provided instantaneously.

The current examination centre is located within City College Norwich..

Academic Progression:
Successful completion of The Chartered Insurance (CF6) examination combined with completion of Paper One of the Financial Planning Certificate (CF1) meets the FSA qualification requirements for Mortgage Advisors and provides an equivalent qualification to CeMAP.

Students are able to take CF1 or CF6 in which ever order they choose.

Further Financial Planning examinations are available for those wishing to give investment advice or those wishing to expand their knowledge of the Financial Services industry.

Career Progression:
Those completing CF6 can seek a career as a Mortgage Advisor or within an administrative or technical capacity supporting the selling of mortgages and mortgage related products.

Completion of the qualification is an excellent way to demonstrate to employers that you are serious about fulfilling a successful career within the industry.
