Both certificates provide widely recognised teacher training qualifications for the post compulsory sector of education, consisting of coverage of all key aspects of the work of the teacher and trainer. The modules, and the learning outcomes present in each module are based on an analysis of the work of the teacher. The course consists of the fundamental skills of teaching, the facilitation of learning and curriculum development and practice in the workplace.

Entry Requirement
Interview and reference plus the following:
A good standard of Literacy and Numeracy - Level 2 qualifications (GCSE/Key Skills) preferred.
Level 3 (A Level or equivalent) qualification in the subject you teach for the Certificate in Education
This course requires that you are employed to teach or train for at least 150 hours during the programme which normally lasts for 2 years. You will need to nominate a subject specialist mentor for the course. The mentor will support you from a subject specialist perspective.
Students without the necessary qualifications but with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.
