The purpose of Reiki, as developed by Mikao Usui, was and remains to allow the student to heal both themselves and others on a physical, an emotional and a spiritual level. By doing so on a regular basis the student will create a balance and harmony which, according to the founder, will create health and wellness and lead to happiness, contentment and ultimately enlightenment.
Level 2 teaches the Ki energies that work directly on the physical and emotional levels. Combined with level 1 this is the best option to create balance between the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. By self-healing on all levels, we create health, balance, harmony and oneness.
This Reiki course is a professional Reiki practitioner course and teaches Reiki to the National Occupational Standards for Reiki and incorporates the teaching elements of the CNHC core curriculum.
On this Reiki course you will receive one Denju initiation attunement and learn all the relevant traditional Japanese techniques and theory for this level. You will also learn to use my Active Reiki Method to work with clients that have clinical illnesses, injuries and emotional issues in order to maximise the healing effects of the treatment for the best possible healing outcomes.
By the end of this Reiki training course you will be able to use Reiki to work on yourself and others on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. You will understand how Reiki works, the history of Reiki, how to work with clients according to National Occupational Standards for Reiki and how to use Active Reiki to maximize the healing potential of every treatment you give.
This Reiki course prepares you to practise Reiki professionally and to take the Reiki Council verification process for CNHC registration. Of course, this course is also for self-healing and treating friends and family for those who do not wish to practise Reiki professionally.

The gap between level 1 and 2 is artificial and was introduced by Western Reiki teachers. Mikao Usui and Dr Hayashi taught Reiki as a continuous course. Dr Hayashi taught level 1 and 2 over 5 days with 2 hours teaching each day.
The reasons teachers in the West give for the gap are:
"to allow the student to get used to the energy."
"the attunements are too strong to be given so close together"
"the cleansing process is too difficult"
The reasons we feel it is better to teach level 1 and 2 together are:
Level 1 only teaches the use of high frequency spiritual energy, which will not work directly on a physical or emotional level.
The cleansing process can be difficult for some students, and if they have not been attuned to the level 2 energy they will struggle to heal themselves effectively, making the cleansing process more prolonged and difficult.
Very few students will be sensitive enough to feel the energy used at level 1. We find that students get disillusioned with Reiki when they have only taken level 1 because they cannot feel the energy and are disappointed with the healing effects. Level 1 is more a relaxation treatment, rather than the healing treatment possible at level 2.
Level 1 is not a complete or stand-alone course, and as such it only teaches part of the Reiki system. Mikao Usui said Light and Ki energy flows from the healers hands, eyes and breath. Level 1 teaches the Light component and level 2 teaches the Ki component that works directly on a physical and emotional level. Both are needed to be able to use Reiki effectively.
This is the way Reiki was taught originally, and we are trying to keep the Reiki tradition alive.
The course prepares you for professional practice but we recommend that you practise self-healing and practise your Reiki on friends and family for between 4 and 12 weeks to gain confidence and experience and to really embed the teachings and techniques of Reiki. After that you should be ready to work with the fee paying public.
