Understand and apply essential Radio Frequency (RF) technology concepts, including Wi-Fi RF network planning, essential RF calculations, spread spectrum technologies, modulation and coding.
Understand the fundamentals of Wi-Fi network operation, for essential Wi-Fi network problem analysis and troubleshooting.
Summarise the rules governing Wi-Fi WLANs, to comply with local RF regulations for the operation of Wi-Fi networks.
Understand the IEEE 802.11 standard and amendments, including 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac Wave 1 and 802.11ac Wave 2.
Correctly install, configure and support Wi-Fi Access Points, wireless bridges and WLAN antennas.
Understand 802.11 / Wi-Fi WLAN operation in depth.
Analyse and troubleshoot a range of Wi-Fi network problems including RF coverage, multipath, hidden nodes, RF channel allocation and RF interference problems.
Understand the essential tools and processes used in WCC Wi-Fi RF Network Design and Site Survey.
Experience state-of-the-art Wi-Fi network engineering tools from Ekahau, AirMagnet, Tamosoft, Metageek and more.
Describe the major threats, attacks and risks posed against Wi-Fi networks.
Understand the essentials of Wi-Fi network Security and apply baseline security practices to your environment.
Take the WCC-600 and WCC-610 exams during your course.

Prior to joining the course, students should meet the following pre-requisites:
Have a good understanding of switched Ethernet LANs and MAC addressing;
IP addressing, configuration and troubleshooting;
Practical experience in Administration and Troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows XP;
Practical experience Troubleshooting hardware drivers on Microsoft Windows 7 or later;
Experience of configuring devices such as SOHO or Enterprise-grade routers or similar appliances.
On successful completion of the course, students have the opportunity to take the 2-hour WCC CWNM® Theory Exam WCC-600 and the 3-hour WCC CWNM® Practical Exam - WCC-610. The course price includes examination vouchers for the WCC-600 and WCC-610 exams, which are valid for the week during which the course is attended.
