About this course

To enter the programme you should possess at least 2 A Levels, any CIPS Level 3 Certificates, or any other Level 3 Certificates CIPS considers equivalent. Applicants without any prior qualifications must be at least 21 years of age, with at least two years' experience in a business environment.

Who is the programme for? The programme is specifically aimed at those who are working in, or wishing to start a career in purchasing and supply and are seeking a recognised qualification leading to membership of a Chartered nstitute.

What will I study? There are five modules to complete at this level of study. They are: Effective Negotiation in Purchasing and Supply; Developing Contracts in Purchasing and Supply; Measuring Purchasing Performance; Managing Purchasing and Supply Relationships and Purchasing Conrexts. Exemption from some, or all of the modules, based on academic achievement, is possible.

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? All modules are assessed by CIPS externally set and marked examinations. CIPS examinations are held in November and May. Candidates must enrol directly with CIPS and pay the CIPS examination fee. Progression to the next level is dependent upon passing examinations.

Future prospects? Success ful completion allows progress to Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply.

When will the programme start? The programme starts September 2009. Further entry points are November 2009 and March 2009.

How long will it take? Completion time depends on the mode of attendance, i.e. afternoon and evning, or afternoon or evening only. There are three terms per year, with two modules in term 1 and term 2 and one module in term 3. Attendance on an afternoon and evening basis would allow completion in 9 months (September to May).

What about the Money? Please note that this is a full cost course and no fee remission applies. This programme costs 370 per unit.
