Who is the programme for? The programme is aimed at aspiring managers or managers in a managerial role who are yet to be formally qualified. The programme caters for candidates from both the public and private sectors who are looking to increase their skills and gain a qualification recognised across Europe.

What will I study? The Diploma involves the study of eight modules and a management report. The eight modules consist of: * Managing Information and Communication * Maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Quality * Customer Focus, Marketing and Planning * Development of Teams and Individuals * Planning and Controlling Physical and Financial Resources * Recruitment and Selection * Developing your Management Style * Managing Performance More detailed information on module content can be provided on request.

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? The course is modular with wriiten assignemnts submitted ( 6 in all ) to fulfill learning outcomes for the modules. There is also an organisation based project/report investigating an organisational issue of current relevance.

Future prospects? The Diploma in Management is accredited by the CMI, and as such is a nationally recognised professional qualification at level 5. Student membership is included in the course cost. On completion of the course candidates can progress onto the Executive Diploma in Management and can progress towards Chartered Manager status.

When will the programme start? The programme is modular. There is some flexibility for candidates to begin in April, September, December, or February.

How long will it take? The programme can be studied either in one year, Thursday afternoon and evening, or over two years with Thursday afternoon or Thursday evening or Thursday morning the 3 routes available.

What about the Money? Please note that fee remission applies to anyone on a means tested benefit, job seekers allowance, a programme designated as Skills for Life (SfL) or where someone is studying their first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 (aged 19 25). If you are under 19 on the 31 August 2009 you would not normally pay tuition or registration fees. If a programme is Full Cost then no fee remission is applicable.
