About this course
With its broad focus on supporting children and young people, this course offers an excellent stepping stone to a fulfilling and stimulating career. Because it includes a foundation year, it provides a smooth transition for people who might have previously felt unable to realise their career ambitions through a lack of traditional qualifications.
Our BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies could be your springboard to roles in social work, family intervention, behavioural inclusion, mentoring, supporting students with SEN and providing pastoral care for students in educational settings. Our graduates are now pursuing worthwhile careers as teaching assistants, inclusion officers, nursery managers and learning support practitioners.
Our staff are dedicated to improving your career prospects at every stage of the course. The additional qualifications you can gain – in skills such as first aid, Makaton and safeguarding – make your CV stand out further still.
GCSE Maths and English are preferred, however if you don't have these qualifications you will be able to undertake Maths and English at L2 as part of your course of study.
