Childhood Studies, Foundation Degree - 2016/17

This Foundation degree programme is designed to provide an opportunity for those who are working with, or who wish to work in child-related areas, to undertake further study in order to complete the requirements for the award of a Foundation degree in Childhood Studies. The programme is applicable for those with a variety of backgrounds; teaching assistants, unqualified teachers, those engaged in a variety of child and youth related settings, those working with young offenders and those working in areas relating to other teaching and learning environments. Available pathways are ‘generic’ (a generalist route that covers a variety of issues relating to children and young people) as well as a specialist pathway in Special Educational Needs. It is a requirement of the programme that you have a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children or young people (this can be cumulative) and are working in a child/youth related setting in a paid or voluntary basis for at least fifteen hours a week.
