About this course
A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade D or above, one of which must be English. Candidates will be interviewed to assess their suitabillity for the course and we will be looking for an appropriate standard of English and maths. We are interested in your enthusiasm and commitment to succeed.
A satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check will be required, prior to enrolment.

Who The Course is for
Those who wish to gain a recognised qualification in Children†s Care, Learning and Development.
To work in a childcare setting, you should be:

Course Content
Students will study 5 compulsory units plus 1 optional unit.
- Understanding Children's Development
- Keeping Children Safe
- Communication with Children and Adults
- Preparing and maintaining Environments for Child Care
- Professional Development, Roles and Responsibilities in Child Care.
- The Development and Care of Babies and Children under Three Years.
Key skills in communication will also be studied as an integral part of the course.
240 hours of compulsory work experience placement is required to complete this qualification.
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
Students will complete assignments with all 6 units internally assessed. There are no external exams. Successful completion of 240 hours of work experience placement is required to complete the qualification.
