About this course

Four GCSEs at grade C or above. Ideally this will include English and Maths.
You will need to have an acceptable CRB check which you will need to pay for before you can start. You will also need to complete a 'Fitness to Train' questionnaire.

The Programme
This programme looks at children's care, learning and development across a broader band of age groups. The programme is based approximately 50% in college and 50% in placements including working in nurseries, schools and with children who have additional needs. It is a fast moving programme and you will needs to do lots of coursework as well as working effectively in practice.
The Programme Content
This programme covers five units all relating to the care, learning and development of children, as well as a unit which will assess your skills in practice.
Progression / Careers
If you successfully complete this programme, you will be able to progress onto the BTEC National Certificate in Children's Care, Learning and Development which qualifies you to work as a team leader in nurseries etc.
