Introduction The Level 4 Children's Care Learning and Development NVQ is designed for professionals working with children in a variety of settings and services. Candidates gain a qualification that relates directly to their management role. This course is designed for people working with children from 0 - 16 years and their families in settings or services whose main purpose is children's care, learning and development.

Key Objectives The Level 4 CCLD confirms the complexity of your role and the skills that you need to carry out your job. You can use it to work as:

· a childminding network coordinator
· a centre manager
· a senior practitioner involving high-skills
· with children and families

Course Units In order to achieve the full NVQ you must undertake all 4 mandatory units plus 5 optional unit of your choice.

Mandatory Units:
· Establish and develop working relationships
· Support policies, procedures and practice to safeguard children and ensure their inclusion and well-being
· Support programmes for the promotion of children's development
· Reflect on, review and develop own practice

Optional units to choose from e.g.:
· Support and evaluate the curriculum for children's early learning
· Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility
· Manage finance for your area of responsibility
· Safeguard children from harm
· Recruit, select and retain colleagues

NVQ CCLD Level 4

Duration 12 - 24 months

Progression Route The CACHE Level 4 Certificate in Managing Quality Standards in Children's Services (CMQS)
A higher level qualification e.g. a Foundation Degree
