The vocational qualification is designed for work-based learning and provides flexible training through the study of 6 mandatory and 1 optional unit for Level 2 and 5 mandatory and 4 optional units for Level 3. Suitable for: This programme provides an up-to-date qualification that is in line with industry needs. It is ideal for anyone working in face-to-face roles with children, young people (up to 16 years of age) and their families. Level 2 is more suited to those who are supervised within their role and Level 3 is designed for supervisors or those who work unsupervised.

No formal qualifications are required, however candidates must not hold a degree, not be in full time education and be contracted to work for a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Assessment

Assessment takes place through evaluation of work-based performance, presenting evidence, witness testimony and questioning. A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the learner can perform to the level described. Participants will all have a Training Assessor
who will help assemble the portfolio and prepare for assessment.

Progression

Candidates often progress from Level 2 to Level 3 qualifications.
