Is the course for me?
Candidates come from a variety of vocational backgrounds, but will be seeking to gain a qualification for the 'associate' teaching role. You may already be in-role, or have no prior experience, but you must have access to 30 hours of teaching practice in a recognised location.

What will I learn?
You will complete the following modules: Planning and Enabling Learning Principles and Practice of Assessment Plus an optional module to be agreed by the tutor Practical observation of your teaching forms a central part of the course and a total of 3 observations of your teaching practice will be undertaken during the programme.

How will I be assessed?
Students will be assessed using a variety of methods including: Assignments, presentations and practical observations of teaching practice.

What can I do after the course?
Candidates will be eligible to apply for ATLS (Associate Teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector) through the Institute for Learning. On completion of the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, you may wish to progress onto the Certifcate of Education in Teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector (DTLLS), subject to meeting the entry criteria.
