As assignments are work based, you need to be in employment or have access to a suitable business situation. If you do not have a Grade C at GSCE (or equivalent) in both English and Maths you will need to take a diagnostic assessment prior to enrolment.

Course Content
The course covers a wide range of personnel issues including:-
·Human Resource Plans and Organisational Context
·Recruitment and Selection
·Training and Development
·Performance Management
·Employee Relations

How will I be assessed?
The emphasis throughout the course is on active participation.
Assessment is an on-going element of the course, compromising of work-based assignments, case studies, role-play exercises and simulations.
For some exercises the assessed element will incorporate both peer group assessment and critical self-assessment.
Students also keep a learning log.

What can I do next?
Where appropriate, Students are encouraged to progress to the CIPD's Professional Development Scheme offered at the University of Wolverhampton and other institutions.
Alternatively, there are National Vocational Qualification (NVQs) in Learning and Development offered by the City of Wolverhampton College for those in suitable employment situations.
