Course information:
CITB Intermediate Construction Award in Wood Occupations


Course content:
The course is a qualification in construction which is jointly awarded by City & Guilds and the Construction Industry Training Board. It acts as an entry qualification to the Advanced Construction Award and provides an excellent qualification for entry into the construction industry. All students will be given hands on practical experience using joinery hand tools and woodworking machinery in our well equipped workshops. The course consists of seven units of training which can be achieved progressively and one practical phase test as well as external written papers.

Assessment procedure:
Assessments will be based upon evidence from both practical work and job knowledge.
There is no limit to the number of attempts the candidate may make in order to achieve success.

Progression opportunities:
Successful students may progress from the Intermediate Construction Award to the Advanced Construction Award.

Most full-time students do not have to pay for their course. We may also be able to help you with some of the extra costs associated with college, eg travel, childcare, equipment, books etc. In addition, if you have just left school, you may be eligible for an Educational Maintenance Allowance.
