About this course

The overall objective of the SMSTS course is to develop awareness and competence to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both company, policy and construction industry best practice.

The SMSTS training course is intended for project managers, site managers and site supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Possession of the SMSTS qualification is listed in the Approved Code of Practice for the construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations as a demonstration of competence in the role of site manager.

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is regarded as one of the most respected and valuable construction courses available for site managers and supervisors, and is taken by thousands of new and experience managers each year.

This course highlights the need for risk assessments in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

This information together with the experience gained will enable managers to organise, monitor and measure both health and safety performance on site, and to establish and maintain safe system and safe methods of work thereby satisfying legislative requirements.

The SMSTS training course is intended for project managers, site managers and site supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Possession of the SMSTS qualification is listed in the Approved Code of Practice for the construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations as a demonstration of competence in the role of site manager.

The overall objective of the SMSTS course is to develop awareness and competence to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both company, policy and construction industry best practice.

It must be stressed to all course attendees that they need to attend ALL sessions. Without full attendance the CITB will not award the SMSTS Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate.
