IOSH - Managing Safety

IOSH Managing Safety is a nationally recognised qualification in the UK. The course is designed to enable delegates to understand health and safety legislation and it’s implication to them. It helps them to identify, review and manage risk effectively within their own organisation so that they can manage and improve health and safety within their department.

The training course involves 24 learning hours and is delivered over a 4 day. This high impact programme covers all the main health and safety topics and includes a session on tackling the environment too.

The course consists of the following 8 modules:

• Introducing Managing Safely
• Assessing risks
• Controlling risk
• Understanding your responsibilities
• Identifying hazards
• Investigating accidents and incidents
• Measuring performance
• Protecting our environment

On successful completion of the course, which includes practical and written assessments, candidates will duly be awarded an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate. It should be noted that these certificates are valid for three years from the date the course is completed. IOSH Managing Safely re-certification courses are available through SMTS and require successful completion before a new Certificate can be issued.

The IOSH Managing Safely certificate provides the perfect basis to progress onto a NEBOSH General Certificate in the future.
