This is a one year course that students cantake to AS-Level only.

What will I study?
You will study:
· Identity and democracy. What does it mean to be British? Are we all equalcitizens?
· Community action and active citizenship.What are my rights and responsibilities? Howcan I make a difference ?

How is the course assessed?
There are two exams in AS, one open-bookedbased upon your event organisationdocumentation.

What enrichment will there be?
Activities include:
· Relevant trips and visits.
· Guest speakers.

What could I do next?
You would continue with your other A-Levelsinto the second year of your study. Citizenshipshould open your eyes to the opportunitiesthat exist for service in the community. Theevent and media organisation part of thetopic provides good experience for thosewanting to go on to university to study PR, events organisation and media. Additionally,the course is a good basis for those wishing topursue a career in social and communitywork, or one related to law. This AS-Level isrecognised as a fourth AS by universities.
This course is widely recognised and valued byemployers in all career areas especially publicservices.
