Introduction
Pathway: Level 3 Certificate in Engineering - Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
This award is aimed at young people who:
- are following an Advanced Apprenticeship programme and need to meet the Technical Certificate requirements
- already hold a Level 2 qualification or have relevant experience in engineering and wish to develop skills learnt from the Level 2 qualification
- wish for a career and academic progression within the engineering industry
* It is expected that candidates should have an engineering Level 2 qualification in order to be able to satisfactorily complete the course of study
There are 2 core units:
- Unit 1: Working effectively and safely in an Engineering Environment

Unit 2: Engineering Principles and Practice
- Unit 9: Principles of mechanical manufacture engineering
- Unit 39: Turning
- Unit 44: Fitting
- Unit 47: Computer aided design (CAD)
Entry Requirements
It is expected that candidates should have an Engineering Level 2 qualification in order to be able to satisfactorily complete the course of study.
Progression
The C&G 2800 qualification meets SEMTA industrial standards and satisfies requirements of the Modern Apprenticeship framework.
