About this course

Candidates should have a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation i.e. C & G 2330 level 3 or C & G 2360 Part 2 and C & G 2382 17th Edition. Certificates will need to be seen at enrolment. You also need to be over 18 years old. You should ideally have approved electrician status with a good knowledge of the current IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Course Content:
You will study the following units: Theory of Inspection & Testing, Hands-on Practical Testing and Recording results.

You will need your own copies of the ¿Guidance Note 3: Inspection and Testing (ISBN: 0 85296 991 0) and the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2001) (ISBN: 0 86341 373 0). You can buy these from bookshops such as Waterstones and W H Smith for approximately £70. You will be assessed by 20 short answer questions and also 6 structured questions taken from the whole syllabus. The exam is subject to City and Guilds ¿no books allowed¿ conditions. You can apply to go on this course at several points in the year.
