The City & Guilds 6189-21 qualification is a new Diploma intended for students wishing to specialise in the heating industry. The diploma is made up of in centre assessments and on site assessments. Sanitation topics are not studied on this course and consequently the course time will be reduced.

The course provides the minimum acceptable level of qualification for the heating industry. Achievement of the City & Guilds level 2 6189 NVQ Diploma will allow progression into a City & Guilds level 3 6189 NVQ Diploma, Gas training and many other specialist areas.
