Course Aims:
To develop competence in the use of computers and information technology using common business application software.
Course Content:
The course is broken down into five units, the accent is on developing the practical skills needed to operate a computer system.
FILE MANAGEMENT AND E-DOCUMENT PRODUCTION
This incorporates creating files, keying in text, saving work, editing and formatting text, printing documents.
CREATING SPREADHSEETS AND GRAPHS
Entering data into the spreadsheet grid, saving the spreadhseet, performing numeric calculations, editing and formatting the data, printing spreadsheets. Transferring numeric data into graphical form using a variety of chart types, printing charts/graphs.
E-PUBLICATION CREATION
Use of desktop publishing software to create, save and print publications
CREATE AN E-PRESENTATION
Use of presentation software to create, save and print presentations to include formatting and images.
DATABASE MANIPULATION
Use of database software to create queries, forms and reports.
