Course programme

This course is designed for practitioners who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in the interpretation of medical images, and is jointly validated by the University and the College of Radiographers. It provides support for developing service requirements for reporting radiographers at consultant and advanced practitioner levels. The teaching team, which includes consultant radiologists and reporting radiographers (advanced practitioners/ consultant radiographers), has specialist knowledge and research interests in the range of subject areas offered. The team has been commended for its use of research to inform learning and teaching, as well as for the degree of flexibility – meeting both student and stakeholder needs’. Research associated with the course has received international recognition and the previous Programme Director was awarded the Fellowship of The College of Radiographers (FCR) in 2010 for work in this field. The research work on clinical reporting was included in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission within the Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy Unit of Assessment, in which over 95% of the research was recognised internationally in terms of originality, significance and rigour.
