The Level 6 qualifications in Management and Leadership are designed to develop personal management capabilities, make effective use of information in decision-making, operations and the development of the skills in managing people.

About this course
CMI does not specify entry requirements for these qualifications, but Centres are required to ensure that learners admitted to the programme have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment.
- The Award:
To achieve a CMI Level 6 Award in Management and Leadership, you need to successfully complete at least one unit to a minimum of 7 credits.
- The Certificate:
To achieve a CMI Level 6 Certificate in Management and Leadership you need to successfully complete any combination of units to a minimum of 14 credits.
- The Diploma:
To achieve a CMI Level 6 Diploma in Management and Leadership, you need to complete all core units (Group A) and three optional units (Group B) to a total of at least 41 credits.
On receiving your enquiry you will be provided with a clear explanation of the programme, an explanation of our delivery model, assessment strategy and support systems as well as a firm course price, payment options and enrolment arrangements.
The time it takes to complete a qualification is dependent on the units you choose and delivery times and methods however, as a guide:
- The Award can take as little as 4-6 weeks
- The Certificate can take between 2-3 months
- The Diploma can take between 6 to 12 months

Progression opportunities
On successful completion of the required units for a Level 6 Diploma qualification in Management and Leadership, you will have completed at least one Level 7 unit and therefore are immediately eligible to also receive the Level 7 Award in Strategic Management & Leadership.
On successful completion of a Level 6 qualification in Management and Leadership, a number of progression opportunities become available:
- Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
- Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 6 Award to Level 6 Certificate etc)
- Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. from Level 7 Award to Level 7 Certificate or Diploma)
