Aimed at the fresh, recently appointed leader – or those with little coaching experience, this practical day will focus on the ease with which they can coach and its significant benefits to business, manager and team member.
Using a variety of activities with fellow participants, delegates will practice some of the seemingly challenging aspects of coaching such as questioning techniques.
By the end of the day participants will be able to:
- State the importance of identifying where their team members are in terms of competency
- Discuss the importance of identifying each person’s learning style
- Explain the difference between training and coaching
- Practice active listening techniques
- Choose the appropriate intervention for the team member at a given point
- Use questioning to agree solutions with the individual, including ‘chunking’
- Describe why the learning cycle must me implemented in full
