The course will examine how theories of cognitive function can be informed by evidence from converging neuroimaging methods such as functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electrophysiology (EEG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), as well as from neuropsychological, patient-based techniques. It is hoped that many students on the course will go on to pursue PhDs and research careers in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.

About this course
A minimum of Upper Second Class Honours degree in Psychology or other related scientific disciplines (e.g. Computer Science, Neuroscience, Linguistics, Biomedical Science, Philosophy, Natural Sciences) from a UK Institution, an equivalent professional qualification, or an equivalent degree from an internationally accredited institution.

Full-Time Programme
The MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience is run jointly by the Department of Psychological Sciences of Birkbeck College and the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL. It brings together some of the world's leading researchers in the field of cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology from centres such as the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development (CBCD), the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), the Functional Imaging Laboratory (FIL),the Institute of Child Health (ICH), and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. As a student on the course you will have the opportunity to become part of this academic community, and contribute to this exciting and rapidly developing field.
Special Features
The course offers hands-on training in neuroimaging techniques, and also features case demonstrations at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Students also benefit from the rich offerings of talk series, seminars, and conferences in cognitive neuroscience that are hosted by the many academic institutions in Bloomsbury and London.
