Summary
This course is aimed at people who want to pursue their interest in Holistic Therapies, which not only concentrate on physical ailments, but treats the mind, body and spirit. The qualification comprises of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage.
About the Course
This is a comprehensive course, in which you will study the theories behind each massage therapy, gain the practical skills in each therapy, whilst studying and relating anatomy, physiology and pathology to your work. You will also complete a business unit for complimentary therapies, providing you with the relevant business acumen needed to start your own business. Students are trained to industry standards, and will be expected to carry out treatments on members of the public within a realistic salon environment. You will also be required to carry out case studies to support your knowledge and understanding, and some of these will need to be carried out in your own time. A degree of research and time allocated for homework in your own time will also be required of you.

What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
There will be a written exam for each practical unit, and an online multiple choice exam for anatomy and physiology. You will produce assignments throughout the course which will go into your portfolio. You will be practically assessed on numerous occasions to prove competency and will have a final assessment via an independent external assessor.
Are there any resources to obtain?
You may wish to purchase as Aromatherapy kit to aid you in your case studies, although this is optional. You will need a folder in order to produce your portfolio, and use of a computer in your own time is advisable.

A Fee: £1120.00, B Fee: £ 1120.00, C Fee: £10.00
Are there any other costs?
Students are required to wear a plain white tunic (order forms are available from the college if required) with black trousers and low heeled fully enclosed shoes. The consumable fees are set at £25. A registration fee to the awarding body will also be payable.
What facilities can be used on this course?
Purpose built accommodation within Totton College campus.
What next?
Successful completion of the course can lead to other specialist courses, such as sports massage, deep tissue massage, massage for cancer sufferers, hot stone massage and auricular therapy; or lead you into employment in spa's or salons.
