Computerised Accounts (Sage Line 50) - Level 1(2009/2010)
Study Method:
Assessment is by examination which tests the candidates ability in the preparation and operation of computerised accounts software/packages and also to test the candidates ability to interpret and verify information from source documents.
Duration :10 weeks. Two hours a week - 7pm - 9pm.

Who the Course is For:
The course is aimed at the person seeking a first qualification in the practical use of computerised accounts. Potential candidates should have an adequate understanding of the terms used in basic book-keeping.
Assessment:
The examination will take the form of a case study in which it is assumed that the candidate is working in an accounts department using a computerised system. The initial accounts required for the examination will be created by the specialist teacher prior to the examination. Candidates will be permitted to use a calculator during the examination and will be responsible for any printing required.
Exams are computer-based.

Course Objectives:

Create accounts in the Nominal Ledger from given information.
Process information in respect of the Sales Ledger, i.e. Invoices, Credit Notes and receipts.
Process information in respect of the Purchase Ledger, i.e. Invoice, Credit Notes and payments.
Calculate and reconcile all Batch Totals as required.
Print out copies of ledgers, balances and accounts as required.
After you have successfully completed this level, you are eligible to enrol on the next level of the C&G Computerised Accounts Level 2 (Sage Accounting).
