Course Outline

How is the Course Structured?

The "Ready to Check-In" course is divided into six sections.

1. Airport Passenger Service On Line Course (Units 1, 2 and 3)
This section will provide you with the knowledge required to work in the role of Passenger services for example, terminologies, rules and regulations, passenger handling procedures, baggage labels, flight preparation and gate handling etc.

2. Computerised Check-In (Lesson Mode)
This section will teach you step by step on how to check-in a variety of customers for direct and transfer connection flights around the world. Using a simulator, you will feel like you are working on a live computerised check-in system.

3. Computerised Check-In (Simulator)
This section will allow you check-in passengers in a free format manner. You will be able to check-in infants, children, individuals, groups for standard and check-in variation situations. The system also allows you change seats, cancel acceptance, arrange special assistance, charge excess baggage charges etc.

4. Computerised Boarding (Lesson Mode)
This section will teach you how to board passengers that are checked-in. Using a simulator you will feel like you are working on a live system.

5. Computerised Boarding Simulator
This section will teach you how to board passengers that are checked-in in a free format manner, along with de-boarding passengers who have not showed at the boarding gate.

6. Flight
In this section you will find the necessary reports that the Dispatcher and the Senior Cabin Member require after you have checked-in and boarded the passengers.

Course Assessments

In line with the high standards maintained by the International Academy of Travel, students will be required to take a supervised Final Examination to ensure that you have a clear understanding of "Ready to Check-In".

In order to successfully complete the course and receive the certificate, the students must obtain 80% or above in their final written Examination Paper. Upon successful completion you will be awarded an industry supported Certificate in Airport Passenger Services.

The exams can be taken anywhere in the world and are designed to prepare you for the assessments and exams you will take once you commence employment with an airline.
