    13 Weeks

This course focuses on condition assessment and monitoring of civil infrastructure.
You'll be introduced to current methods of structural condition assessment, advances and developments in sensing technologies, technical aspects of the structural health monitoring and structural identification.
The course addresses in-depth theoretical fundamentals which help to resolve problems and challenges an engineer has to tackle when assessing and monitoring civil infrastructure.
You'll engage with advances in, and applications of, sensing technologies and data management tools, and you'll develop a clear understanding of the fundamentals of structural identification.
You'll develop skills in applying information technology to generate numerical replicas of physical structures which are employed to assess their performance.
You'll also engage with algorithmic signal processing approaches which are used to interpret measurements obtained from monitoring projects.
A CPD certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
Successful completion can also contribute 15 credits towards a PGDip or MSc award.
