This programme is designed to provide students with a high level of understanding of the design, function, construction and statutory requirements for buildings of all classes and to prepare them for more advanced employment in the construction industry.The programme consists of a combination of core and optional courses which provide appropriate training in each case for students with technical employment in the field of Quantity Surveying (estimators and cost analysts), building surveying, building control or construction management (Site Managers).The courses have been designed to include a high level of academic and practical elements. Enrolment on the programme entitles students to become student members of the CIOB, RICS and CIAT. The programme is also recognised nationally and internationally by employers in the construction industry.Attendance2 years, 1 day a week.OutcomesThe aims of the programme are to:Develop the education and training of students to a professional level in a variety of types of technical, professional and management careers in construction and the built environment sector. Provide opportunities for you to develop and apply a range of skills techniques and attributes essential for effective performance at work. Provide students with an insight into the full breadth of design and construction disciplines that collaborate in the multi-disciplinary construction industry and value the benefit of practical experience brought to the course by part-time students working in industry.. 1 A Level or AVCE with a minimum of 60 UCAS points, Edexcel National Diploma or Certificate in Construction and mature students with relevant industry experience.

    Assessment All units are graded as pass, merit or distinction. Students must pass each unit to get the overall certificate qualification at the end of the programme. Assessment is through assignments, presentation and examinations.
