There are no formal entry requirements for the CSCS although candidates must have experience in the construction industry in order to participate.

Programme Summary

Most construction sites now insist that everyone is CSCS certified and the objective of the CSCS programme is to raise standards of both workmanship and health and safety within the construction industry nationwide. This programme provides you with evidence of your skills and experience and will reduce the risk of problems of accidents on site.

By the end of the programme we will ensure that all participants have gained sufficient knowledge to reach the required standard to gain certification required by the CITB to pass the CSCS examination. Instant test results and application for your card can be sent the same day.

Once the application is sent, your card should arrive within 7 days. This card is valid for either 3 or 5 years, lists all qualifications and shows evidence of health and safety awareness

Programme Content

The CSCS covers the following areas:

• outline Health and Safety Legal requirements

• Accident Management

• Scaffolding

• MEWP

• RIDDOR 1995

• COSHH

• hoists and towers

• welfare arrangements

• PPE

• manual handling

• electricity

• excavation and confined spaces

• portable appliances

• noise at work / vibration

• site vehicles and pedestrians

• fire extinguishers

• first aid at work

You will need to bring:

• Proof of any qualifications you have gained related to your job

• Proof of ID

• National Insurance Number

Assessment Process

There is a 45 minute test at the end of the programme. Practice tests will be provided prior to the test and uke learning assessors will provide feedback on areas that require development prior to presentation of the test.
