Course programme

Contemporary drawing practices will be discussed in a series of visual presentations. These techniques and approaches will be uncovered and related to our own specific drawing practices. We will experiment with mixed drawing media to further develop our unique approaches to drawing.

The course will consist of digital presentations featuring contemporary artists who utilize drawing followed by class discussions and artist-led projects. Handouts and demonstrations will accompany visual presentations. Individual practical projects will encourage creative thinking and problem solving. Group critiques and discussions will help broaden vocabulary while bringing more confidence when talking about art. One-on-one tuition will be a major factor in developing your own personal practice. Some out of class research will be required plus visual research at The British Museum and sketching on location.
