Contemporary Illustration

Your Course
Illustration has recently had a surge in popularity and is often seen as a cool and creative alternative to Photography. Students will be encouraged to be experimental in their image making and to develop their own individual style. Students will work to a series of briefs that they would be expected to work to in the industry. This course would suit anyone who wishes to find out more about illustration or students with more established ideas who wish to push their ideas further. The main aim of the course is to help students establish themselves as successful Illustrators working on regular commissions.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Start to develop a personal portfolio.
· Push your ideas further and be encouraged to find an individual style.
· Be aware of the current illustrative styles and uses within the industry.
· An understanding on how to market your work and get commissioned.
Your Tutor
Anna Wray had a degree in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design and is currently studying for a Masters in Printmaking. Anna is a practising Illustrator and Graphic Designer having worked for clients ranging from the BBC, NME, Saturday Times, Ted Baker and many more. Anna also teaches at Cambridge School of Art.
Day and time: Wednesday 7-9pm
Start date: 20 Jan
Number of sessions: 10
Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
