At the end of the course you should be able to. Deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Enter unprepared into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events). Connect phrases in a simple way in order to describe experiences and events, my dreams, hopes and ambitions. Give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Narrate a story or relate the plot of a book or film and describe my reactions. Suitable for: This course is suitable for both adults and young people form the age of 16 onwards. Learners who passed this class confirm that they have reached a language level of B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, indicating the ability to use Italian at an intermediate level.

This is a year long (30 week) course, split into two 15 week semesters; (B1i and B1ii) and is designed to follow on from level A2 to assess an intermediate knowledge of Italian.
