Course programme

You will develop your listening and communication skills for use in everyday life and at work. This will include participating in a range of activities such as group discussions and triad role-plays. You will also develop your self-awareness, learning about yourself and yourself in relation to others.

You will keep a weekly journal and write 2 short assignments.


  • No formal qualifications are required, but a 30-minute interview and a 500-word statement form part of the application process.
  • You should have a keen interest in working with others and a commitment to helping people develop personally and professionally.


You will be required to produce a portfolio of coursework and undertake external assessment set by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychology Central Awarding Body).

On successful completion of this course, you will achieve the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, awarded by the Counselling and Psychology Central Awarding Body.

The course leads on to the CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills or the CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Life Coaching Studies.
