Journalism BA (Hons)

Marius

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: I chose this course because I heard it is very good, I got a lot of hands-on experience and we get to use new technology in this field. Professors are amazing as they help us out with new techniques and work. In addition, I also did a placement in the BBC. It was only one month, but I gained a lot of experience and I was even promoted to assistant producer. I was also given one week work as a bonus.
What could be improved: N/A.

Occupational Therapy BSc (Hons)

Beth

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: I am an Occupational Therapy student in my first year. My expectations were that it was going to be very fun and really intense and that it would be quite rewarding. It has been everything I expected it to be and more. The one thing I like most is working with people and being able to do work placements. The course is preparing me for professional practice as there are many deadlines and I have to organise myself a lot. When we go into practice, we still have to learn and it gets us into a habit.
What could be improved: Everything was positive.

Mathematics BSc (Hons)

Elizabeth

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: I chose this degree because it is a sort of progression from my A Levels. I think I will have a lot of options in the future by combining these two subjects as they cover a wide range of market demands: programming or pure maths. All the staff has been very supportive. I definitely recommend Maths in Coventry. There is a lot of support, you get one-to-one tutors and as far as employability, the university is quite good with the career services.

Geography BA (Hons)

Sam

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: This course has gone past my expectations because we studied thoroughly some topics which I am interested in. They also encouraged me to do more reading about poverty and the colonisation in Africa. Field trips were an amazing way of making new friends and developing skills which cannot be developed in a class. We have also developed critical thinking skills, which makes us distinctive and highly demand in the employment world.
What could be improved: Everything OK.

Computer Hardware and Software Engineering BEng (Hons)

Alexander

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: All universities offer either computer science or software engineering. But Coventry offers a combination of both into one degree: this is a really big advantage. It is very practical and there are many opportunities to progress into your career. Here we receive a lot of new applications and projects. For example, in my second year, I was assigned a project in which I had to develop a new app which navigated students and staff members through the campus. In two months I am travelling to Barcelona in order to work full time in Vistaprints.
What could be improved: No negative aspects.

Medical and Pharmacological Sciences BSc (Hons)

Fola

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: I am studying Medical Science and Pharmacological Sciences. It is a very interesting course and you can specialise and divert to any branch. Pharmacology is a great course to be in. I'd like to be a clinical research scientist and this idea came from many work placements I have done during summer. Last summer I worked with one of my lecturers and I was able to see her research on anticancer drugs.

Priscilla

26/06/2016
What I would highlight: Coventry was my first choice. They made a fun day at my college and because of that experience I really wanted to come here. They are really supportive. We have got a whole board of psychology tutors and we all know them, so it is easy to approach them. The courses are really practical. We get cases and we give a diagnosis based on the information we get.

Psychology BSc (Hons)

Former Student

07/05/2016
What I would highlight: I am about to finish my Bsc at Coventry and it has been a great experience. The nightlife in the city really can't compete with anywhere. It is fairly safe though which is a bonus. The university itself is new, nice looking. The SU building is good. Facilites in general are pretty good, the library is large and you can find anything you want there. The course I do in Psychology is good. I have met lots of good down to earth lecturers. I would highly recommend Coventry University.

22/02/2016
What I would highlight: I really like studying at Coventry University. It is an amazing university where lecturers actually care about you and take the time to learn your name. I found this very important. It has great facilities such as the information learning services. I don't use the student's union, because I find it quite busy and I don't feel comfortable there. Most of the lecturers are friendly and really helpful. The clubs and societies are also great.
