Event Management BA (Hons)

What I would highlight: I have really enjoyed this course so far. The lecturers always try their very best to find us great opportunities, which is very important especially for a course such as Event Management, where hands on experience is required. We have had the opportunity to go to many exciting places such as, Berlin, Amsterdam, China and South Africa as well as many different places around the UK. The course content is very good although contact hours are quite minimal, however if I needed more time with the lecturers to help me with any queries about my coursework or exams, I know all I would have to do is ask. Overall it is an excellent university who try very hard to offer their students the very best university experience.

What I would highlight: The University is giving us the opportunity to visit plenty of exhibitors, work placements, and useful working skills. Careers department staff is extremely kind and helpful. The Students' Union is awsome. It is great, we have a nice support center located in the library, but the feedback is not complete by some of the tutors. A huge volunteering part and a lot of activities in Coventry.

What I would highlight: The course use to be very strong, it had structure and organisation. The teaching can be strong depending on the lecturer. One lecturer I praise hugely is Rob Tovey. He has structure, and keeps our knowledge up to date with current or trending lectures that are relevant to our module and learning. They really challenge you, and make you consider if you can apply the knowledge to your work, unlike the rest. Strongly consider Coventry University as a whole. Great one to ones with tutors.

What I would highlight: Coventry university is a multicultural setting. It provides opportunity to learn about other cultures and being everyone together. I don't think there could be a better university for me. Coventry has a sense of unity that I needed. Furthermore, it provides fantastic opportunities to better yourself in preparation for your career. Leadership and language programmes as well as many employability workshops. Also the lecturers are so passionate, encouraging, supportive and dedicated that it gives you the best possible chance of doing your absolute best. Our lecturers are very passionate about what they teach and many of them have working experience which provides insight into how we can apply our knowledge in a real job role. They go out of their way to find interesting and unique examples rather than easy general case studies. They are always available to meet and respond to email very quickly.

What I would highlight: The course at Coventry has provided me with more opportunities than any other university could. The facilities are top of the range and extra-curriculum is helping us to be better rounded and more employable. We are offered a vast amount of support and help is always available if we're struggling to adapt to this new life style. Meeting new people, the first experience of going clubbing has been great, lots of responsibilities as I am living alone such as cleaning my room and cooking for myself. University has been a freedom for me as I can do what I want to do. Transferable skills, lots of advertised placements, work placement fairs, guest lectures from different companies etc

What I would highlight: It has been a wonderful experience since I am here. As already said, it was quite stressful planning everything before I arrived. But the Uni is great and has a good and positive atmosphere. Really enjoy it!university’s facilities? They are very modern and I love to be at the University. In fact, I am there more often than at home. The library is GREAT and has such good working spaces. The Hub is a great place to stay at and most buildings have more places where one can study. That is MUCH better than my German Uni! university’s facilities? They are very modern and I love to be at the University. In fact, I am there more often than at home. What I would highlight: This course balances perfectly in depth aspects of both medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, providing clear career information and how to get there. This is along with the opportunity to stay on at the university and gain a masters in pharmacology and drug discovery, as well as plenty of PhD opportunities for those students willing to work for it. All staff are available when they say they will be and only at the other end of an email, I have received an unbelievable level of support with absolutely everything I have done, whether that be personal, interview training, guidance with work I find difficult etc. The course is set 50% each way roughly by coursework and exams, coursework including essays, lab reports and leading on to writing full scientific articles - potentially worthy of publication or conferences. Final year also includes your own lab based project for your thesis, conducting your own research! Teaching is lecture, workshop and lab based, along with an element of independent study which is up to you if you want to achieve those higher grades. The level of lab experience we gain at this university is of an extremely high standard and focuses around making you an attractive and employable graduate.

What I would highlight: My years at Coventry have been enjoyable, I have met a variety of people I would have otherwise never had the chance to meet. My lecturers and tutors are lovely people and it is clear they love their job, which motivates me to attend my lectures. The clubs and societies give you a chance to take a break from studying and have a bit of fun. They offer us presentations of past work experience students, we are also given easy access to the employability unit within the university, so there are many people we can talk to, plus theirs constant employability and work experience fairs taking place in the hub and square one.

What I would highlight: Overall my first year at university has been exceptional. It's easy to make friends who have similar interest, and the city provides a range of activities to help you relax outside of your course. Work is also readily available for those in need of a part time job, including placements with the university itself. Work placements are available all over the world due to their vast network of contacts. Especially in my course, it is often found that the placement company will reserve a position for the student so they have a job immediately after completing their course. A careers department is provided as well as regular updates via email when an organisation has contacted us with an opening. To enhance our skills, each student must complete an Add+vantage module yearly, which focuses on an area of skills you may not encounter in your course. For example, book-keeping, pilots theory, InDesign workshops, language development etc. The workshops and equipment available is always being updated. The are provided with a huge range of design softwares which can be accessed in our PC and Mac suits. A lot of funding goes towards our modern library, allowing a hive of information to be accessed; plus if there's a specific book or magazine you cannot find then the library has available funds in order to purchase these and add to the ever growing collection.

What I would highlight: It has been hard as i said i dont have the support that i need from university, therefore everything that i have acheived I had to work extra hard to get it. I think university needs to be more understanding and respectful of student circumstances.. Lecturers are always available to help. Other services offered by the uni include a doctors on campus and a health and wellbeing centre which helps and listens to students who have any personal difficulties. They are very quick to get you booked in and offer the best care. If your problem isn't something they can help with they will refer you to the best place for you and ensure you get the help you need.

What I would highlight: This degree will keep you on your toes. The lecturers are never dull and allow lectures to me enjoyable. They cater to everyone's needs and have an open door policy which help students a lot. The degree itself teaches you from how to investigate a hard drive using tools the police use to how to get away with murder. As the degree is so innovative opportunities just land at your feet.

There are lts of environmental projects/ TEDx talks/ volunteering in local schools, migrant centres, refugee centres, city councils. Mathematics and Statistics BSc (Hons)

03/02/2017
What I would highlight: Studying Mathematics and Statistics is a very therapeutically pleasing subject to study, I find that once you master (sort of understand) a topic area that the achievement brings you happiness. This includes both written work and papers, as they both play a big part in learning maths. Maths is a vast and I would say complex subject that requires a lot of effort (almost all of your effort if you can), reason being the techniques are for the weak minded to understand. The structure is somewhat made easier in a way at Coventry University, as you only study for three modules per term so there's less for you to learn. I strongly recommend Coventry.

Psychology and Criminology BSc (Hons)

02/02/2017
What I would highlight: Criminology at Coventry university is really good, the staff is always friendly, approachable and incredibly engaging. The course is assessed entirely through coursework which is great for me because I have never been good with dealing with exam pressure. The course content is great and extensive and throughout the degree you are able to choose area which interest you the most to do your assessed work on. There are also links with numerous company's and charities for which you can volunteer to enhance your career prospects. Last year through the university I completed training in order to be an appropriate adult for West Midlands police, and experience I am thoroughly enjoying and grateful for.

What I would highlight: I love Coventry University and would recommend it to anyone willing to gain a good degree. I am at the Scarborough Campus and it's great -new building, small classes and really friendly staff. You only study one module at a time - 4 hours a day, 5 days a week for 6 weeks - so it's really in depth. A very positive experience!

Criminology and Law BA (Hons)

31/01/2017
What I would highlight: Despite the hardwork Law LLB is a course that is dedicated to broadening your perspectives deepening, your thoughts and cementing your values. I find it interesting so it is enjoyable but you cannot ignore the complexity of the subject where missing one lecture is equivalent to 10. There are different teaching styles but you have to make it work for you.. The course is structured in a way that you cannot get lost.. They often throw in guest lectures to make things even more interesting.

What I would highlight: The Coventry University is an excellent place to learn and develop your self. It has good environment with greater cultural diversity. I found it to be the best place to study and the facilites are excellent. Libraries and IT are great and very resourceful. All the facilities regarding education are co curricular activities are there. so one can expect an excellent environment at coventry university and its great to be at Coventry University. At Coventry university, I found the EC careers and development department working effectively with the students. They are providing the students with the sufficient guidance for their practical life. The department at the Coventry University helps the students to develop their resumes and curriculum vitaes to be presentable in a practical environment, so this increases the employability of the each student being passing out from Coventry University.

What I would highlight: My degree is taught very well, lecturers are very enthusiastic about the topics they teach and will always take the time to make sure that you understand everything. Lectures are always on an online system with extra content. There is always guided further reading and the opportunity to go further with your education. This is supported by all of the staff at the university. My degree is accredited so it puts me at a good advantage ahead of other Biomedical Scientists, there is a lot of opportunities and announcements about placements and jobs available. There is a very good student support system and the university is constantly evolving to the advantage of the students. For example, one society decided that there was not enough veggie/vegan food on campus, this has been debated in a student meeting and the university are now exploring vegan food options.
