Symbol of elegance and refinement, the perfume is a product through which big brands communicate their identity. However, transforming ideas into scents is a very complex art, one which requires specific knowledge.
Under the tutoring of a professional perfumer, participants retrace the fascinating narrative of the birth and the function of the perfume in history, learning to assess, recognize and recreate essences and fragrances on an exciting journey to approach concretely the world of perfumery.
Through a practical course of study of the scents, recognition and olfactory sensory evaluation, the course aims to provide participants with the relevant knowledge needed to define the creation of a unique and original fragrance.

Course programme
The Créateur de Parfums workshop is designed to allow students to get to know the perfumers’ world and deepen their knowledge of the profession.
Under the guidance of a professional perfumer, students learn the principles underlying an olfactory education and sensory evaluations; they work with both primary materials and finished products, learning to evaluate, recognize, and re-create scents and fragrances.
PROGRAMME
Week 1
- Perfumery history from ancient times to today
- Technical vocabulary and basic olfactory concepts
- Natural raw materials and their olfactory characteristics
- Synthetic raw materials and their olfactory characteristics
- Insight: Natural and organic cosmetics
- The effects that are obtained by combining olfactory notes
- Olfactory Recognition: developing the ability torecognize raw materials in complex substances
- Creating classic fragances: rose, lily of the valley, jasmine and carnation
- Creation of natural fragances: aromatic and floral colonies
- Insight: Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
Week 2
- Study of the olfactory structure of the scent
- Olfactory groups study
- Creationof a perfume through the design of an original olfactory composition
