On this practical course you will explore, experiment, collect reference material, make sketches and develop illustrations from popular culture images. You will create work in response to a range of media including film, music, album covers, book covers, magazines, advertising images, photography and poster art. You will learn the principals behind illustration style, looking at a wide range of examples. By the end of the course you will have an insight into how to develop or further develop your style, and how to successfully create illustration work inspired by films.

About this course
- Understand the characteristics of style
- Research and develop ideas in response to a given brief
- Recognize the skills to further your illustration style
- Create illustration work inspired by film.
The course fee covers basic materials and equipment. It would be very useful for you to bring the following: an A4 or A3 sketchbook, a notebook, B and 2B pencils, an eraser and a sharpener. A USB memory stick and digital camera would be useful though this is not essential.
