Course programme

What will I learn?

They will develop creative approaches to writing, technical use of language, and learn how to craft words to influence readers They are encouraged to explore a large variety of texts and create many of their own Creative Writing can lead to Higher Education (degree-level courses) and a job in the creative industries

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be divided into Exploring Creative Writing: a portfolio of creative/professional writing (60%) and Writing on Demand: a two hour examination (40%)

What may it lead to?

The AS Creative Writing course prepares students for further study in Higher Education as well as complementing studies in Media, Journalism, Film and Art It will enable students to develop a breadth of transferable skills, including: clarity of thought and expression, critical and analytical skills, team working, giving and receiving feedback, and creative problem solving As such, these proficiencies can be applied to the breadth of writing tasks encountered in the professional world of work or academia

Course Fees

If you’re aged 16-18 when you start your programme and you are taking a course leading to a qualification, the tuition and exam fees are free However, there may be additional costs for personal kit/uniform, books and trips dependent upon what you are studying
