Post 1945 the Jewish world was forced to come to terms with the destruction of one third of its population and most of its traditional cultural centres. Jews faced the dangers and the opportunities of the creation and maintenance of the State of Israel and the ongoing crisis in its relationship with the Arab and Muslim world.
They faced the dangers and opportunities of an accommodating western bloc and the nonaccommodating eastern bloc. These challenges and many others have revolutionised Jewish identity and dealings with the non-Jewish world. This three term course will seek clarity in the bewilderment of being a Jew in the 21st century. Come on the way to work. Beat the traffic and the parking problems and have a great start to the day.
