Course Outline
Critical thinking is a skill-based rather than content based AS level. It develops the ability to interpret, analyse and evaluate ideas and arguments and can support areas, from arts and humanities to science.
Skills developed through the study of Critical Thinking at AS level act as excellent preparation for both students wishing to progress onto Higher Education and those entering the work environment.
Course Content
Students complete modules in:
- Introduction to Critical Thinking
- Assessing and Developing Argument
Assessment Methodology
Both of the modules are assessed through an externally set and marked examination.
The examinations are available in both the January and June examination series.
The course could be delivered over one or two years dependant on the needs of the group.
Method of Delivery
The course will be delivered through taught sessions with students carrying out practical hands-on tasks.
Future Prospects
Skills gained on this course will be extremely useful at University and or in employment.
