What's the course about?
Attendees on this course will learn the fundamentals of Web Standards website design. There will be a strong influence on writing semantic HTML mark-up while utilising CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) as the presentation layer for all design elements.
Areas covered by the course include:
- What is web-standards website design and why tables can be bad
- Web-standards doesn't mean boring websites
- XHTML vs. HTML
- Composing XHTML mark-up
- Using CSS for layout
- Typography with CSS
- Construct a web page that validates
- Conventions in website design
How long is the course and when will it be taught?
There are two attendance options:
- Two-day intensive training course (9am - 4pm)
- One evening per week (6pm - 9pm) for four weeks
Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
There is no requirement to undertake an assessment with this skills based course.
What will I be able to go on to do after I've completed this course?
You could go on to do the CSS and Web Standards Website Design course at intermediate level.
