CSS and Web Standards Website Design (Intermediate)
What's the course about?
This course will dive further into website design with CSS and XHTML, attendees learning how to produce different types of layouts, and understanding how different web browsers interpret CSS and how to resolve common problems.
Areas covered on the course include:
- Create 2 and 3 column fixed-width and fluid layouts using CSS float principles (not absolute positioning)
- Understand how different web browsers interpret CSS (including IE7)
- Learn how to resolve style related problems between different web browsers
- Produce horizontal and vertical list-based navigation
- Learn the difference between inline and block elements
- Lay out a form without the use of any tables
- Write CSS short-hand to maximise efficiency
- Create printer friendly styles for any website
- CSS background-image tips and tricks
How long is the course and when will it be taught?
There are two attendance options:
- Three day intensive training course (9am - 7pm)
- One evening per week (6pm - 9pm) for 10 weeks
Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
There is no requirement to undertake an assessment with this skills based course.
What will I be able to go on to do after I've completed this course?
You could go on to do the CSS - Advanced Layouts and Accessibility course.
