DELTA(Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults)

Delta is a widely recognised qualification which helps you build better teaching practice and can lead to greater rewards and more career opportunities. It is now available as three separate modules, offering even greater flexibility and choice.

Manchester Academy is now offering Module One, Module Two and Module Three.

Module One
Understanding Language Skills for Teaching
This module looks at the theories behind how people learn languages and how they are taught
Units:
1. Theoretical perspectives on language acquisition and language learning
2. Different approaches and methodologies including current developments
3. Language systems and learners’ linguistic problems
4. Language skills and learner’s problems
5. Knowledge of resources, materials and reference sources
6. Key concepts and terminology related to assessment
Assessment
Module One is assessed via a written examination.

Module Two
Developing Professional Practice
This module looks at the theory and practice of teaching and the different ways that environment, society and cultural affect the way that it works.
Units:
1. The language learner and the language learning context
2. Preparation for teaching adult learners of English
3. Evaluating, selecting and using resources and materials for teaching purposes
4. managing and supporting learning
5. Evaluation of lesson preparation and teaching
6. Observation/evaluation of other teacher’s lessons
7. Professionalism and opportunities for professional development
Assessment
Module Two is assessed via a portfolio of coursework, including observed lessons, background written assignments, and an externally-assessed lesson observation.

Delta Module Three - on demand, subject to tutor availability

Additional information

Payment options: Delta Module Two only £1,125 plus Cambridge examination fee £300 deposit to be paid on enrolment. This deposit is not refundable, unless you are not accepted on the course
