Course programme



The programme shall extend for two calendar years part-time and shall comprise of four semesters which will include:

(a) 40 study days on a day release basis ( 26 days in yr 1 & 14 in yr 2)
(b) Directed self-learning
(c) Practice Placement for a minimum of 2 days per week
(d) Tutorials in the work place
(e) A final assessment in year 2

The programme will consist of 9 modules (to the value of 120 credits) which shall include a Final Assessment Module of 20 credits plus a work based portfolio of Experience carrying 20 credits, all at Level four.

Study days will be based at the Dental Teaching Unit, Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Clinical practical experience will be obtained from practice placements - two days (14 hours) per week.
