What will I learn?The qualification focuses on practical support and 'chair-side' work during a range of dental treatments You will also learn about dental ethics, professionalism, teamwork and communication required to work as a dental nurse Learners will need to be working or on practical placement to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills This qualification encompasses the current General Dental Council (GDC) learning outcomes and Skills for Health National Occupational Standards
How will I be assessed?Students will be assessed through portfolio tasks, exam and workplace observation
What may it lead to?Learners can progress to qualifications in specialist dental nursing roles, dental hygiene or therapy, dental technology, teaching dental nursing and dental practice management
Entry RequirementsYou need to be employed as a dental nurse and have Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 1 (grades D - G) or above
